ABACO and Geocledian, a start-up specialised in designing and providing geospatial cloud services, attended the Big Data Grapes workshop in Pisa, Italy, presenting the current progress of their work.
Big Data Grapes is an international project supported by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme. It collects data coming from different sources (satellite, weather, geology and soil, genetics, economics, finance and much more) creating a composite data ecosystem, supporting decision making and increasing the competitive advantage of European companies active in two key industries powered by grapevines: the wine sector and the natural cosmetic business.
ABACO’s Simone Parisi and Florian Schlenz from Geocledian showcased the development of the Farm Management pilot, outcome of preparatory activities such as weather sensors and soil surveys installations in Tuscany – Montalcino area, crop plan definition, 2018 agricultural activities upload, accurate assessment of vegetation indices.
ABACO’s SITI4farmer, recognised by the likes of Innovate UK as ground-breaking, is leading the integration between IoT sensors and the innovative IT platform.
